I am all for fuel efficiency, but is this a joke? Check out the LS 08 Lexus Prestige Luxury Sedan. The non-Hybrid version starts at $62,000 and offers sixteen miles per gallon in the city and twenty-four miles per gallon on the highway. Compare that with the LS 08 Leus Prestige Hybrid Luxury Sedan, which starts at $104,000 and gets twenty miles per gallon in the city and twenty-two miles per gallon on the highway. Sure, there are other differences in the two cars, but it still doesn’t seem to add up.
5. Shocking Chair
Say what? My Ikea couch, which seats five and pulls out into a comfortable bed, costs less than this Atmos Rocking Chair. The Atmos Rocker “takes something as mundane as seat belts and combines it with sustainably processed wood to make a captivating and comfortable rocking chair.” And at $1,049.00 for one, what’s holding you back?
6. Skinny Jeans, Skinny Wallet
Linda Loudermilk’s Gathered Low-Rise Skinny Leg Jeans are made of “sasawashi, bamboo, sea cell, soya, and other exotic self-sustaining plants.” They’re billed as 99 percent organic cotton, 1 percent elastic, and cost only $297 on the Greenloop Web site.
7. Fountain of Youth
For only $121.50, you can buy a three-month supply of an age-defying system (includes cleanser, toner, and moisturizing cream) on the L’uvalla Web site. What are you paying for? The fact that “every element of L’uvalla is sustainably produced for optimal environmental preservation, with the health of the world and every individual in mind.” I might stick with Oil of Olay.
