Children’s Eyes and Cigarettes

By: Stephjune (Little_personView Profile)

A child’s eye is hand high. When I was twelve I was in charge of watching my youngest brother while my mom was looking for socks at a sale. My brother and I were standing just behind the shoppers. There was this lady in front of us with a cigarette in her hand. She was holding it behind her so she wouldn’t get burned or drop it into the pile of socks or something. As she was pushing forward, her hand went back with the cigarette end burning right by my brother’s face. God let me see it and I put my hand in front of his face just as the cigarette got there. The back of my hand got burnt right where his eye was. If God had not warned my mind, he would have been burned in the eye. He was only two at the time. So, remember, a child’s eye is hand high—a good reason to not bother smoking. Oh, by the way, the women gave me a why are you in my way and why did you run into my hand look and then said as much.
