The Memory Keeper’s Daughter was a New York Times Bestseller for twenty-eight weeks. I found this an interesting read. I too was curious as to the outcome of events. I understand how some felt the book to be a "downer" but I found myself sympathizing with the characters.

I have to say this is NOT one of my favorites. I thought the tone was depressing & the lack of follow through with the characters frustrating. I felt the author had many attempts to make this a fantastic book but failed miserably. I would have to say this is not one I would recommend.

Without a doubt the book kept my interest going, as I found myself increasingly curious to the outcome of events. However, unlike many of the others who read this book, I found myself unsatisfied with the author's solutions, as well with some of the characters, which I found two-dimensional predictable, or passive. I'd rather not give story plots away. But I did pass the book on to my mom (who often likes books that I don't), so I'll report back with her thoughts.
