We are different in various ways and yet there is a similarity woven among us. It’s not just the cool rhythmic sway of our hips or the curve of our lips as we apply the shimmering gloss of life. It’s the thin layer, the flimsy touch of the fabric sewn together, holding us in, shielding us from the harsh wind or the blazing sun.
We, as women, as mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, and friends are layers of fabric, brightly colored, frayed a bit along the edge, soiled from life and then repaired to wear on. We are the finest of silks, the durability of denim, the softness of cashmere and the coolness of cotton.
We are vibrant colors of love, hope, determination and vulnerability. We are the billowing sheet, fresh like spring snapping in the summer breeze. We are sometimes held together with small gold safety pins or simply the magical thread of perseverance.
We, as women, are truly the fabric of life and everyday as the layers continue to peel back, we as women, should be celebrated. Take a look into your own personal closet, put on the fabrics, sashay your strengths, flaunt your flaws and wear your wisdom. You’ll never have to check the mirror again because you are always brilliant.

Beautifully written. I love being a woman and feeling feminine in all the fabrics we get to adorn.
