He stood for it for seven years, acting accordingly, before he saw it all come together. Lance Armstrong had the nerve to stare death in the eye and make the declaration—with the whole world looking on—that he would live to ride his bike again. And he did and won seven consecutive victories in the prestigious Tour de France as a result!
These two didn’t need to see it first to say that it was so! They said it first even though they had no evidence that it would go their way. They put their money where their mouths were and lived like it was so until in fact it was! They weren’t merely talking ABOUT the way things were, they weren’t complaining ABOUT how awful it was. In spite of the circumstances and what appeared to be real, they had the nerve to say it and then hold on tight until they would actually see their dreams come true.
And you?
What are you willing to courageously declare when nothing around you suggests that you can win? Are you willing to boldly believe that you can have what you want even if it looks absolutely impossible?
Today realize: If you won’t say it, you’ll most likely never see it!
Make a bold declaration that will stand on its own without waiting for the circumstances to grant you permission. Realize your declaration can exist in spite of your feelings or what you might think. It doesn’t care what the experts say and it is not impressed with the way that “it has always been done.” Today don’t be afraid to put the cart before the horse, talk the talk, and then walk the walk!
Lance Armstrong’s story never gets old and we never get tired of hearing about a good old-fashioned fight for freedom. We can listen to it again and again because it is the story of the triumph of the human spirit over insurmountable odds. Add your chapter to the story by declaring what you want—independent of what the circumstances might be.
