Reflection: A Single Cell

By: Tracy Maxwell (View Profile)

For years I maintained long-distance relationships or found excuses not to seek out dating opportunities—a busy schedule including lots of travel, a lack of good prospects, or the dread of yet another lousy first-date. Now I am meeting lots of interesting men and enjoying those first-dates. There hasn’t been a Prince Charming to sweep me off my feet yet, but probably because I no longer think he exists. I am looking for a nice average guy who shares my interests, with whom I can have a good conversation and share some chemistry.

2007 showed me that I could take some big risks and find big rewards. The rewards come with a price, of course. Choosing a different path can mean anxiety, fear and doubt will creep in from time to time, but they are quickly followed by contentment, confidence and the joy that comes from standing on your own two feet. I can’t wait to see what 2008 has in store!
