Resolution Overload
I am sitting here facing the blank slate of this New Year feeling a little overwhelmed. There are many “things” that I want to do this year. I can make a list a mile long of everything I want to accomplish. I would then sit down with this list and create specific goals around them and then get to working on them. I know I can do all of this and I will. But, today as I sit here looking out on this bright snowy day, I just want to figure out one thing. I want to find my broader intention for this year, an anchor that I can base my list of to do’s on. We can get so caught up in our lists that we forget our main focus and intention on how we want to live our lives.
Changing Intentions
Change is inevitable in our lives. Last year my intention was much different than what it will be this year. Last year my husband and I became empty nesters, built a new house and moved to a rural community. It was a year of change. My biggest intention was to manage the change that I was facing. As the year progressed and we settled into our new lives my intentions shifted towards my new business and getting back to enjoying our lives.
Believe In What You Want
My intention for this year needs to be based on who I am now along with who I want to become moving forward. In order for us to stay in alignment with what we want, we need to look at what is important to us fundamentally. To apply the Law of Attraction successfully we need to believe in what we are asking for. If we stay focused on our deeper intention as we set about our daily tasks all that we want will flow towards us.
Deliberate Intention
I will spend time today looking at who I am, remind myself of my core values and what is most important to me to honor this coming year. I encourage you to do the same, and find that intention that will bring you more joy in 2008. We are within a never-ending journey towards more joy; we get to continue to reinvent ourselves as we go. That is what is exciting about this New Year, new month and each and every new day.
