Dearest Ian, another year has passed.
We all live our lives day by day. Granted we all look into the past to possibly learn from something we may have screwed up or to just simply recall an absolutely glorious memory from years past, we still live life day by day. We also look to our futures, perhaps questioning what we will become or what we may not become, but we always live life day by day. Today is January 19, 2008, a normal day for many. Some may look at January 19th as a great day, maybe a birthday, an anniversary, or some other tremendous occasion comes but once a year on January 19th. To others, January 19 may be the worst day of their lives. Maybe they had a relative die, maybe they were dumped by someone they were in “love” with, etc.
Who really knows? It’s just another aspect of how amazing life is on this earth. Once you grasp the fact that everyone is different and looks at things differently based on their experiences and feelings, then things of this nature become even more fascinating. To think that the mere fact that today is January 19th will cause many people to be happy, and many others to be sad, is quite a thought. The name of a day determines how we feel, kind of sad if you really look at it. It’s a new day isn’t it? It’s totally different from the last January 19th, yet eerily the same. There are even those who just look at January 19th as Friday, they still haven’t had that defining moment that the others of us have had in our lives to determine how this day will become a concrete memory in our oh so complex brains.
I think it’s amazing that we all have different thoughts as this. Tonight I might see someone very happy because they just celebrated their anniversary dinner with their mate. I might see someone ecstatic over having just got an engagement ring on their birthday. You never really know.
