I just finished reading Bo’s latest article posted on www.bosanchez.ph As usual, it’s very enlightening and hopeful. In the article, he encourages his readers to make a list of all that brings joy into one’s life—however long or short the list maybe, whether it be big or small—as long as it gives you joy, write it down.
Here’s my joy list!
1. God—He is just so wonderful! Everything that has happened in the past and more recently the past two months wouldn’t have been bearable without him. I’m so glad I found my way back to him. I’m so happy he made me realize that no matter what happens, he’s always there. People come and go in our lives but only He never leaves our side, in happy times and sad, whether we are good or do bad, he never gave up on us … on me, and I know he never will. Thanks Dad! You truly are the best!
2. Family—I just LOVE them so much. They give me strength and hope everyday. I’m so thankful that God gave me such a great family—mind you, it’s not a perfect one, in so many ways, but for me, they are. My Grandparents are the best grandparents an apo could ever ask for. My Mom is a force to be reckoned with and I love her for that. My Aunts and Uncles with their husbands and wives are like my mom and dad. I have eight sets of parents, would you believe?!
My cousins are just a wacky bunch; I just adore them, however crazy they are. My one and only brother, he gives me so much joy because he is such a good boy, even though there’s a language barrier, I know that he knows that Ate loves him so much. We fight a lot, but we laugh a lot too and most importantly, no matter where life takes each of us, we are a family—our imperfect family is perfect in its own way.
3. Friends—I’ve made so many over the years—some stayed, some left, others I lost completely, but still I am thankful I’ve met them and even for a brief moment, we were friends. Those who stayed and those who came back—thank you so much. It means a lot to me. I will forever be grateful for the friendship. For the new ones, I hope we’ll have a friendship that will last us a lifetime.
