Pumpkin Surprise

By: Monique Peterson (View Profile)

The first surprise behind this fall dessert is that it’s ridiculously easy. The second surprise is how good it tastes. As I like to say, it tastes like “more.” As in, may I have some?

Ingredients:

  • One can of pumpkin pie filling
  • One box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup to 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 stick of butter, melted

Directions:

1. Spread the pumpkin pie filling evenly in a 9 x 11 Pyrex dish.
2. Pour the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the filling to make a second layer.
3. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top of the yellow cake mix.
4. Drizzle the butter on top.
5. Bake at 350º F for about 50 minutes, or until test knife comes out clean.

1 stick = 4 ounces = 0.1134 killograms. I hope this helps.

Hi, this sounds easy and delicious! For UK readers - how much butter is 1 stick? Thanks
