Simple Strawberries Romanoff

By: Mark Roddey (View Profile)

A classic dessert recipe made simple and fast.

Ingredients:

2 pints fresh strawberries (rinsed, de-stemmed, sliced long ways)

24 ounces Cool Whip

4 ounces Cointreau liqueur

4 ounces light brown sugar

2 small mixing bowls

4 tall clear parfait glasses

2 serving spoons

Procedure:

Place sliced fresh strawberries in mixing bowl and douse with two ounces Cointreau liqueur. Stir lightly with spoon. Chill strawberries in fridge, marinating for one hour. In your other mixing bowl, add brown sugar and two ounces Cointreau liqueur. Stir till sugar solution is semi-dissolved. Then fold in Cool Whip into sugar solution till incorporated. You’ve just created Romanoff Cream. Chill for one hour in fridge.

When ready to serve, alternate layering of strawberries and Romanoff Cream in tall parfait glass (design is imperative to concept ... do not mix!). This is Strawberries Romanoff’s classic style of presentation. A tasteful, romantic recipe that serves four individuals, or two ... if you want seconds!
