Cool Strawberry Peach Bananas

By: Mark Roddey (Little_personView Profile)

It’s fast, it’s different, and it’s pretty damn good! The three flavors compliment each other, creating an extraordinary dessert treat.

Ingredients:

6 fresh bananas (peeled and sliced thin rounds)

1 pint fresh strawberries (de-stemmed, rinsed, and sliced thin lengthwise)

1 large 24 ounce can peach halves (drained and cubed)

1 large 24 ounce bowl Cool Whip

2 packs individual size sponge cakes (usually 4 count packs)

1 large mixing bowl

Procedure:

1. In large mixing bowl, combine Cool Whip, cubed peaches, sliced strawberries, and sliced bananas, folding together gently, but thoroughly. Cover bowl contents with plastic wrap, sealing airtight to let flavors infuse, and refrigerate for four hours before serving.

2. When ready to serve, top each individual size sponge cake with a heaping portion of Cool Strawberry Peach Bananas. Should be more than enough to feed eight people. If you have more people, buy more individual size sponge cakes.

3. You can garnish dessert with fresh mint leaves if so desired (I usually garnish with a fanned strawberry).

Well Michael, I personally love the hell out of Cool Whip. If you use a little imagination, you can invent a 1001 dessert creations using said product. It sure is a lot easier than making fresh topping from heavy whipping cream, and the consistency lasts a long, long time, while fresh whipped cream will break down when incorporated with fresh fruit after 24 hours, due to the release of said fruit's release of natural juices.

Used to work at Snowbird ski resort in Utah. There was a man we called Mr Cool-Wip because he invented it. (also Tang) He came up to ski two or three times a year. He and I became friends and would sit at the bar and swap stories. The point is he told me that he was paid to create it but you couldn't pay him enough to eat it. (tang too)
