Four Generations: How Will You Vote?

It’s an exciting race to be watching ...and so historic with both a woman and an African-American in the running!

I shall vote for Barack Obama in the Illinois primary election, and hopefully the national election this November. I am impressed with his ability to stay calm and focused during crazy, intense moments in this campaign.

The key issues I care about are:

  1. Iraq. Withdrawal of troops and how to best help returning veterans find themselves after the hell they have endured.
  2. Health Care. I am unsure how or what the best solution is. It needs great attention.
  3. Taxes. Repeal the Bush tax cuts for the “extremely wealthy.”
  4. Balance or attempt to balance the budget.
  5. Immigration. Very important issue for me. I believe we must identify and legalize those immigrants who are here.
  6. Energy. Must find new sources of energy, and reduce oil consumption.
  7. Climate. Create better procedures to reduce carbon emissions.
  8. Education. Find ways to help the problems that “No Child Left Behind” has created.

It is very exciting to me that so many candidates are running. It is horrible that the campaigns cost so much money.

Although Barack Obama has not had as much experience as some candidates, I sense that he not only desires change as he has said. I believe he may be able to bring about the reconciliation between parties, the nation, and the world that is so needed.
