Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, locked in a grueling fight for the Democratic nomination, are both claiming to be a better match against John McCain. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll shows this: in a general election, Clinton gets 46 percent to McCain’s 45 percent, and Obama outpaces McCain by 48 percent to 42 percent. Which Democrat do you think would give McCain a tougher battle, and why? Click on JOIN THE CHIT CHAT below and become a pundit.

I wish Clinton and Obama could be combined into one candidate: experienced, strong-willed, inspiring, and compassionate.

Dee and Mark, you both are very wrong on your ideals of a President. Obama does not have the fortitude, experience or forethought for bringing this America together. He does not have the plans you think he has. You two are most likely very young to not know the past; "Let the Demorcats have a turn in office" - Mark, they HAD their turn prior to Bush, and look what happend? Or did you forget your history lessons last week in high school? You're listening to a silky tongued oratorical skills likened to Josef Goebbels (or are you too young to recall who that is in history? Look it up!) Obama will turn this nation into a socialist republic because that is his stand, whether you believe it or not. He's a baby killer because he's Pro-Choice (not Pro-Life) when he voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois in 2002; he wants to "change" his vote for putting up "the wall" on our southern borders. Is that your ideals of a President? He does not impress me at all!

Sen Obama has not always been my choice. I wanted o vote for Sen John Edwards. If yiou compare candidates, Sen Edwards not only resembled Pres Kennedy, but his political life was very similiar. I was crushed when Sen Edwards pulled out. I believe he would have beat Sen McCain in a landslide. However, since I do not want another Republican in the White House, I will vote for the Democratic nominee. I believe either can beat Sen McCain. I only hope the Dem nominee has the good sense to choose Sen Edwards as a running mate. I believe an African American male paired with a White woman would be a looosing team. While both are qualified, I do not feel the country would support them.

Barack Obama reminds me of JFK in his style of oratory...one can only hope that he will be the equivalent of JFK. Hillary Clinton has the power and wealth to deal with McCain, but lacks the charisma of Obama. My money is on Barack Obama! I'm sick of Republicans and their facist tendencies. I'm sick of war! I'm tired of greedy politicians. Let the Democrats have a turn in office...if they screw up, we'll vote'em out in 2012.

I don't believe either candidate to be a match for MC Cain, They both make me ill with their change rhetoric. Having been on this earth for 70 years I have seen a few campaigns this is the worst. How can anyone even think of having a complete novice as president. Not one word about how he will change things and Clinton do we really need a repeat performance of the Clinton's in our White house. Once was enough. Bill embarrassed our Country, made a mockery of marriage & as for Hillary I do not trust her or her judgment. My first choice is no longer in the race but McCain will certainly get my vote. We are in a battle for our freedom. There is more to this war then what we know. You may not like the President but he is the President of The United States Of America. I trust McCain to do what needs to be done to keep us free. Freedom is paramount for any change to even be an issue. We need to be here as free people first. Vote for MC CAIN for our American way of life.

I really wish I had a clear vision of who is better suited to beat McCain. Clearly, McCain has an impressive military background and I'll never forget covering a lecture he gave at a university describing his imprisonment. I have the utmost respect for him. But I do want a Democrat to win and it has to be someone who has a clear message on how to get out of Iraq without causing genocide and chaos--McCain's excuse to stay in the war. We also need someone Americans believe in as so many are struggling in our economic climate. While I like Hilary's experience helping children and families, I think Obama may inspire more people, and in the end, that may be what we need.
