Generation Doe-eyed

Am I too cynical? Am I the cynic the hope-sters refer to in their speeches? Will it take only one more session, one more repetition of the phrases to indoctrinate me in the clan? I know not. I do know that I’ve watched every televised debate, and watch daily political coverage. I read political blogs and listen to the political shows on BlogTalkRadio. I close my eyes and wait to be swept away. I wait to be convinced, pushed celestially, like the piece in the Ouija board, toward “the one.”

It doesn’t happen. I open my eyes. I go back to writing my opinions about politics. At least now, in 2008, I can post my ideas online, read what’s out there, and try to figure out where I stand in the dizzying constellation of political choices.

It's crazy how trendy politics has become this last year. The cool kids are now rockin votes! I think the optimism is a little annoying as well. Personally I have always been extremely suspicious of the US government. "A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government."
It feels good to write.
