He describes the Palm Cellars red as a typical Paso (Robles) Zinfandel that’s over the top. You’re not likely to find this wine at your local supermarket because there’s limited availability. But, you should be able to order it direct from the winery or a few retailers.

About a year ago, a little boutique vineyard in the Russian River Valley introduced me to chocolate paired with their Zin. I had always drank white wine, and then went four years without drinking at all. When I returned to drinking, I no longer enjoyed white, but fell in love with the robust red Zin (which used to give me headaches). Now dark chocolate and red wine is one of my favorite treats. But good to know the alcohol content, as I can only drink two glasses and no more.
