The New York Times reported study findings showing that almost 50 percent of American children between the ages of eight and ten years have sipped alcohol. I was surprised by this. Out of these children, most parents had no idea, but did drink at home themselves. While there is no evidence that early experimental tasting leads to drinking problems later, I wonder. Is it okay for young children to sip? Is this study a wake-up call for parents?
