What Moves You?

Every time I listen to the John Lennon song, “Imagine,” I am deeply moved. My throat gets tight and I begin to tear up. If I start singing the words, I start crying. I have listened to that song a million times and it always happens. Seeing or hearing about animals suffering also upsets me—especially polar bears. What moves you to tears? Is there a song, movie, or another image that overwhelms you with emotion?

I am especially moved when someone shares an intimate sentiment with me. For instance, when a friend reveals thoughts and experiences about loosing her mother and her dads reactions to their mutual loss. Such as in this one situation, the dad remarried and from that time on, he acted as though his first wife did not exist, nor that his children longed to hear his stories and memory's of times he had together with their mother. This kind of experience really tugs at my heart as I have had a similar experience with my dad since the loss of my biological mother at age five. I would be interested in hearing of others who may have had this experience as well.

Serendipity. There's nothing more wonderful than falling into a delightful surprise when you least expect it. The song (You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman always moves me when I either Carole King's version or Aretha Franklin's version. It's an anthem over 40 years old. It's always good to feel like a natural woman & feel good about who you are. Sometimes it takes someone else to make us realize how unique & special we are.

When my niece reads to me.
a story i read where 1 straight acting male complained about his straight acting lover who cheated on him with his "friend" (who may or may not be a female) And now they both are using him as a "doormat",(because he's too weak to let go) and how much he is "SUFFERING" while seeing the man he loves with someone else. But "both men" are still in the "closet" so neither one is comfortable "coming out" so he has to "suffer" in silence. That story really moved me, so much so that now I "really" have trust issues.
the "dehuminizing" treatment of animals,
seeing a "WEAK PERSON" being mistreated by someone who's "STRONGER"
certain songs, certain movies, slavery.

Good music.
Hurt or suffering animals.
Astronomy.
Nature.
Non-rude people.
I met some kids who have faced enormous obstacles in life, do not live with their families at the moment--and yet they were not in the least bitter. In fact they were the sweetest group of kids ever. That made me cry.
I get emotional everytime I think about gods' goodness in my life. Every morning when I wake up and look around me and see the sun shinning or the rain falling and how the birds like to chirp and the trees and plants around me and I think about those living in the desserts who have never experienced rain or those living in winter countries who don't know how hot the weather can be! Sometimes; its so easy to blame god for the "bad weather" as we like to call it when the weather makes us uncomfortable but when I look at it from the above perspective I am so grateful for every small thing that I took for granted. That is what moves me the most!!

When I feel loved by my husband, children, dog, family, friends or beyond in a spiritual sense.

Here is a list of thoughts, actions and sentiments that move me in many different directions:
The sound of my niece's giggles. The purring of my kitty-cat. The ever "happy to see you" wagging of all the family dogs tails. Taps being played and the American Flag. Military service people coming home. A really good love story. Champagne shared amongst girlfriends. Good food. Silence. Triumph. Defeat. Compassion. Good works. Laughter. Memories, good and bad. Music.

When I am around other Women who also understand the realm of the spirit world and the new evolution of women. Then we embrace and laugh and cry and share our story and agree about the acceptance of self and others and that it is no accident we have come together. Gives me wonderful chills up and down my spine when our eyes connect.
I am moved by extreme JOY when it is a victory over what what so close to defeat or tradgedy. also . Reminicing about my mom and others I've lost.. tears flow and then I'm ok for awhile!
Ditto for me and "Imagine." Stories about people who make serious strides in the face of war, famine, hardship of any kind... human survival and compassion stories. I love movies about relationships that ring true (just saw "You Can Count on Me" which I loved). And seriously: when I watch extreme sporting events, like the Olympics or the Tour de France, the amazing feats of the athletes always bring me to tears. And, thinking about the value of my friends and what they bring to my life will often make me cry tears of joy and deep gratitude. Life is good that way.

I am always moved when my husband tells me he loves me in words and actions, when I read a good book, enjoy a good movie or hear great music.

The sincerity of a genuine, heartfelt apology moves me. It takes such strength to admit wrong-doing.

What adversely moves me, is the frustration that comes from being misunderstood.
Anything on the news about a child being beaten or neglected by a parent. I saw a photo in a story about drug addicts. It was a picture of a bunch of addicts sitting on a floor using, and there was a baby sitting on the floor in a diaper in the midst of all this drug equipment and filth. That picture haunted me for days, triggering tears every time I thought about it.
