Sometimes I think network executives are trying to get me to watch less television. They cancel some of the best shows in TV history (RIP Arrested Development) and replace them with a million new variations of finding America’s next superstar. (How many of the winners have actually become famous for longer than a minute, by the way?) If you could bring a cancelled TV show back from the dead, which one would it be?

I loved Studio 60! Not many people have seen it, but if you watched the few episodes it had, you probably love it as much as I do. That show didn't recieve the credit it deserved.

Right off the top of my head,I'd have to say" Friends". Mainly because they seemed to be as messed up as the rest of us. They had the ability to make me cry, or better yet, to laugh which is needed more these days of fast rising prices and wondering how to make ends meet with less money.

I loved Rome on HBO. This production was so grand, the costuming, the sets, and histrocially so interesting. It is such a stark contrast to this reality crap that requires no writing,no talent, and is cheap to produce.

I would like to see FARSCAPE come back.
First of all, How I Met Your Mother is one of my favorite shows and it would appear this season will be its last. Hopefully the network at least does its faithful viewers the favor of telling the story of how Ted met his wife. I also have to agree that Arrested Development is one of the funniest and most under-watched television shows of all times. What a shame.

I second the vote for "Joan of Arcadia"! My husband and I faithfully watched that every Friday night. We even went to the website to find out the names of the songs each week, and bought CD's based on those artists featured on the show.
Also loved "Freaks and Geeks".

Definitely "Joan of Arcadia", and just when it was getting really interesting too. The whole idea that God speaks to us in our daily lives as we encounter each and every circumstance is not a new idea, but it is difficult to portray in a way that is meaningful in a one hour tv show. Just when it was getting to be a tad boring, the writers hinted that an anti-God figure was hanging around Joan. Unfortunately the show was cut off. Similarly, the tv show "Ghost Whisperer" has been building up to Melinda's encounter with evil forces that are opposing her good deeds of sending souls into the light. We'll see if it is too much for CBS to handle.
I am going to miss Las Vegas. I have heard last season was their last. I think they should have a last season or at least a couple more episodes to give them the send off they deserve.

The show Jericho and I also enjoyed LasVegas. The way NBC cancelled that show says how little it thinks about iits viewers. There was no closer at all.
Journeyman on NBC was great. Seems like every time NBC gets me into a story they drop it a season later - soon I will drop NBC like the part time lover that he is.
Already mentioned but Arrested Development for sure. Also, Journeyman, Karen Sisco and The Black Donnellys. Sigh...I miss those shows.
Northern Exposure! Oh, and Men in Trees hasn't been canceled. It's on Friday nights...or thursday nights....can't remember, but I've seen it recently.
Jericho- I think that the administration was afraid it was hitting too close to the Truth.

It's interesting that allot of the great "family favorites" aren't mentioned yet so will add our '
(some of our teenager grandchildren's favorites yet) Eight is Enough" , The Partridge Family "
and of course we still enjoy the old Western's with animals-Black Beauty and the other animal favorites "Lassie" Wouldn't it be Wonderful to get some of those Old Family favorites back again but somehow revised-We order allot of our good christian Movies or CD's through Christian Movie Clubs now-Sad how there aren't enough family movies for all families to pick from these days.

The X-Files (which I watch all the reruns with a devout passion), and after this season is over, Sci-Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica", the best damn show presently on television. It has a dark, gritty, thought provoking story plot, with a side dish of a messianic twist thrown in. I'm really goin' to miss it.

Probably "Wonderfalls". I mean, if you buy the season on DVD, it ends well, but I wanted so much more!
I'll ring in with Undeclared, from the minds that created Freaks and Geeks but with a more contemporary feel. With guest stars like Ben Stiller, Jenna Fisher, Will Ferrell and Kyle Gass how can you not love it. Beyond just the guest stars the show had a well rounded mix of comedy and heart with enough in between to keep anyone entertained.

Okay, I know I already mentioned Arrested Development, but if I could choose another show, it would definitely be NBC's Freaks and Geeks. I love that show!

I love the show Friday Night Lights, which I think has been canceled, though I read somewhere that NBC execs are considering bringing it back for another season. It has great characters and realistic story lines about life in a small, southern town. Very well done.
