The Scents of Winter

It’s about that time of the year when I start getting really, really sick of the perfumes I’ve been wearing through the warm weather months and start switching over to more winter appropriate scents.  (Although it is Los Angeles, so it never gets super cold anyway.  But I like to pretend that it does because I miss winter.  Not enough to move back to a place where it snows a lot, but I do miss it!)  So I’m taking the recent two day cold spell as an excuse to bust out all my winter favorites in the hope that I may soon be rocking around in a nice, warm coat and my favorite boots.
One of my favorite inexpensive “warm” scents is Pacifica Perfume’s Mexican Cocoa.  It’s a really great find budget-wise because you can get a one ounce bottle for only $22, so it’s nothing that you have to save up for (very important at this gift buying time of year!)  It’s a spicy sort of comforting scent, with a base of Mexican Chocolate and notes of Bitter Almond, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Vanilla.  It’s sort of sweet, with a little bite to it, but it’s just so delicious that it makes me immediately want to eat something chocolate.  (Maybe not the best thing in the world, but definitely uplifting when you spritz it on!)  Plus, the smaller size means that you can tuck it into your bag and travel with it or take it with you to work to re-spray before going out for drinks. It’s the perfect no calorie treat!
