The Best Nail Polish Picks for the Holidays

The holiday season is here and that means it's time for gift shopping, decorating the house, spending time with your family, and working on your festive and merry manicures. Here are my top three nail polish designs for this season and polish options to create these looks yourself at home.

Let it Snow
If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, bring the snow to you this year with a textured white nail polish. This pearly white textured polish, Pearl Lady by Barry M, looks just like freshly fallen snow on your nails and if you add a top coat to glaze over the textured effect, it releases a very stunning sparkle.

To create this look try, these other polishes as well: OPI Solitaire and Zoya Tomoko.

Under the Mistletoe
The holidays wouldn’t be complete without a bit of red would they? A metallic shade offers a festive twist on the classic red manicure. Essie’s Jag-U-Are is a polish that I pull out every holiday season and I’ve added a Christmas sweater accent nail featuring a stamped design using Nailz Craze stamping plate NC03.

Other metallic red shades: OPI Innie Minnie Mightie Bow, Nails Inc The Boltons, and OPI An Affair in Red Square.

All That Glitters
Whether it’s a flaky polish like NYC’s Top of the Gold, or a glitter-like polish such as Milani’s Jewel FX, a gold top coat will add a touch of glamour to any party getup. Pair it with festive green or red for a merry little manicure! For extra pizzazz, add a few extra coats of gold for a luxurious accent finger.

Other gold top coats include: Essie As Gold as it Gets, Urban Outfitters Gold Dust Woman, and Deborah Lippman Boom Boom Pow.

What are your favorite nail shades to wear during the holiday season? We’d love to know!
