3 Easy Steps to Flawless Legs

Now that we're finally out of shorts and bathing suit season, you might've thought it was safe to hide your less-than-smooth legs beneath tights and skinny jeans. But I think we all know better than that. The holiday party season is rapidly approaching and that means getting ready to show them off again. Frightening, isn't it? But don't worry, with a few tips and tricks, you'll be dying to bare them in that super short mini you scored on sale! Here's my advice on what you need to get sexy, ready-to-bare legs.

First, make sure that you get a good razor. Shaving your legs is hard enough without using a cheap razor that ups the odds that you'll nick your skin. I'm a big fan of Gillette's Venus Disposable Razors. They come in a bunch of different varieties and they can be found at any drugstore or supermarket. I love them because they're affordable, last a long time, and rarely give me razor burn. Razor burn is the worst, right? How have scientists not invented a cure for that yet—I don’t know either. Make sure that you lather up with plenty of shaving cream, too, which will severely cut down on your chances of cutting yourself.  Also, if you can, shave your legs at night. That gives your skin time to rest and recuperate while you're sleeping and lessen your chances for irritation.

The next step is exfoliation. Exfoliation is a must for getting rid of dead skin and prepping your legs for the next step. There are tons of great scrubs out there, but right now, I'm obsessed with the Sugar Crush Body Scrub from Soap & Glory.  It's available at Sephora and is my new go-to scrub. It's a blend of smashed brown sugar, sweet lime, almond oil, and macadamia grains. It's ah-mazing. This fresh smelling scrub has a hint of sweetness to it and it works fabulously to get rid of dry skin without being harsh or irritating.  (Tip: Do not use it right after shaving because that will definitely sting). Once your legs are smooth and moisturized, you'll be ready for step number three, which is my new secret weapon.

If you haven't used Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs yet you’re going to be so happy I'm introducing you to it. I'd been meaning to try it for years and just never got around to it. When I finally made the purchase, there was no going back—I loved it! I wanted to kick myself for not jumping on the bandwagon earlier. It's truly magical stuff.  As one of the palest people I know, I'm always looking for ways to make my legs look less pasty white in a dress and this stuff really delivers. It's super simple to use. To apply you spray some on your hand and then rub it onto your legs, blending as you go. It's basically like foundation for your legs and it covers every imperfection while still letting your legs look completely natural. It comes in four different shades for various skin tones (I used the lightest one and it was perfect for my pale skin) and at less than $15, it's a total bargain. It made my legs look glowy and fabulous, so much so that at a party last weekend I received tons of compliments. Trust me, that’s not a normal occurrence. And the best part is that it comes off with just soap and water, making it easy to remove at the end of the night. It’s seriously the best money I've spent on a beauty product this year. I'm just mad I didn't try it sooner because I would've worn quite a few more skirts this summer! Don't make the same mistake I did.  Buy it immediately!
