All Natural Skin Care: Back to Basics

As everyone makes the switch toward better food choices and a more active lifestyle, I think this is a good time to point out that healthy skin care can be just as important as what you put into your body.

Like everything else, we have become obsessed with “more is better” and spending money on things that are just not necessary. It’s time we go back to basics with our food and skin care, making as much as we can ourselves and making sure that what we have to buy is as close to its natural form as possible.

Natural/handmade soaps and shea butters (especially lip balms that go right into our and our children’s mouths) ought to be the norm. We know its ingredients and even have most of them lying around the house.

There’s no mystery, no chemicals, or things we cannot pronounce.

My entire family only uses products from plainjaneskincare. I feel good knowing that everything is natural. Sure, those yummy-fragranced products you find in other places smell good, but at what cost? Shouldn’t soap’s main purpose be to clean you? If it leaves you smelling like cotton candy, I have to wonder what else is left behind and being absorbed by the skin.

Not only is it better for our skin, handmade and natural products are better for the environment! Two birds, one stone …
