As of late, Hollywood has fully explored the world of ex-vampires, werewolves, and zombies—but what about witches? Or "casters" as they are referred to in Beautiful Creatures (in theaters February 14), the forthcoming movie directed by Richard LaGravenese based on the series of novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Set in the fictional small South Carolina town of Gatlin, Beautiful Creatures is about the charming, good ol' boy Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich) who falls for the mysterious new girl, Lena (Alice Englert) who he later discovers is a (not-so-spoiler alert!) caster. But she's about to reach the age of 16, a crucial turning point in her life and things start to get crazy when the two become more than just friends. I had the chance to talk with Alice and Alden about how they acclimated to the world of Beautiful Creatures.
