Prudence Staite constantly finds ways to make everyday food astounding works of art. She’ll craft an edible painting of anything or anyone you want—she’s used pizza dough to sculpt a life-size statue of Pope Benedict XVI, and makes entire rooms out of chocolate (chandeliers, wallpaper, fireplace hearths, etc.). Most recently, Disney commissioned her to create an art series celebrating the release of Snow White on Blu-ray. True to the theme of the movie, apples were Staite’s artistic medium of choice. She re-created six scenes from the film entirely from apples—fourteen different kinds, to be exact. Ironically, what led to Snow White’s temporary demise in the movie is what brings her and her friends back to life today.
