Or Why Women Like to Go Shopping
When archeologists started exploring ancient ruins, one hieroglyphic seemed to be prevalent worldwide. It was drawings of women carrying things like bundles of hay or straw, jugs probably filled with water on their heads, under their arms or two jugs on a pole carried over their shoulders and just about anything else that needed to be carried. As we all know, men were the hunters and fishermen and women were the gatherers. Time has not changed that concept. We still hunt and fish and women still gather.
Women these days are spoiled. Water comes from the tap, our roofs are covered with shingles, our homes are heated with gas, oil or electricity. We get home delivery like pizza. Women don’t even have to carry clothes to the river to wash them like they used to do. But these man made innovations have not taken away that innate desire for women to carry stuff…so they go shopping. They used to wander rows of crops in fields, gathering only the best fruits, vegetables and nuts they could find. Today’s stores are designed to imitate the rows found in fields. Long shelves, just like planted rows of corn or wheat. Produce departments are laid out like food found in a field. Some even have “rainwater” sprayed over the vegetables to give them that just rained on look.
Also, women used to go to the fields in groups, just like they go to the mall now. Call all their girlfriends and off they go. You will see them there…laughing and giggling, just like they did 2,000 years ago.
And if you noticed, women like to return stuff, too. Ever notice that? Well, that doubles their pleasure, so to speak. They cart all that crap from the stores to their homes…then cart half of it back to the store. That helps satisfy their desire to continue to be “beasts of burden”.
