Ben Affleck Cast as Batman in "Man of Steel" Sequel

Hollywood's next Caped Crusader!

There has been major buzz in Hollywood over who will be the next Batman star, and it seems they've finally landed their man!

Two-time Oscar winner, hunky husband, and dad of three Ben Affleck is next in line to don the famous cape and cowl. Ben reportedly beat out Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Joe Mangianello and other Hollywood heavyweights for the coveted role. The selection has ignited a lot of controversy among Ben and Batman fans alike—but casting doubt is nothing new for this famous franchise! Batman is a notoriously hard to role to play: Even megastars like George Clooney and Val Kilmer have been the wrong man to put behind the mask.

"Batman is still the biggest break I ever had… [but] it was a difficult film to be good in," Clooney said after his turn in the 1997 film Batman & Robin, which received some of the worst reviews in the franchise's history.

Here's to hoping Ben can pull this one off! We can't wait to see 41-year-old Affleck take on the role of Bruce Wayne alongside Henry Cavill as Clark Kent in the 2015 film Batman vs. Superman!

What do you think of the selection? Can Ben live up to the legendary role?
