Leaving

The sounds of his breathing
Is all I heard
as I was leaving
Leaving the woes …
Leaving the worries.
Leaving the cares of the man I once married.

He sits laid back
In his easy chair
Sleeping like
he hasn’t a care
Not knowing when he wakes
that I wont
be here.

I know he will explode.
I know he will be mad.
I know all of this
because of the
relationship we had.

Now I don’t care
what he feels
or what he thinks;
I’m leaving this man
This man with all the rank.

This man I once loved
This man I once married …
Once captured
my heart …
my love
and
my spirit.
