Olympics 3.0: The Events of the 2052 Games

Two thousand years ago Olympic athletes competed naked. Nowadays, swimmers wear space-age tech fabric suits that actually help propel them through the water. The Olympic Games may seem like an ancient, unwavering ritual, but they’ve actually changed quite a lot.   Take the fact that one hundred years ago an athlete could medal in tug-of-war. Or walking. Nowadays we have beach volleyball and snowboarding. And if Quidditch and pole dancing get their way, someday they’ll be official sports, too. And why shouldn’t they? The Olympics events should be a reflection of the world as it currently exists, right? So in a generation, we fully expect to see these events join the rotation.
