Why blogging is important.
It truly is endless how one can promote their material and blogging is an essential part in getting yourself into the search engines. The wonderful thing about this time frame with the ‘World Wide Web,’ is that it has opened up the countless ways one can find their market, and even see how others are promoting their product, books, speaking engagements, blog reviews and so much more.
Also, I am finding that many bloggers are look for material to develop their own blog sites, for their own popularity as an author, or reviewer. Many do it very well and can generate revenue from Google ads, and other affiliate programs, products and more. So for many, it is a win/win situation if they find books that engage their readers and have them coming back.
If you have the funding, there are many sources such as ‘blog book tours’ that can help speed up your direct marketing, and could have people coming to your site and reading your blogs to about your own books, or products.
It is important to blog about the same themes that relate to your novel, or non fiction information, as either a publisher, or from the authors' point of view. I think both are different, and you can change subjects slightly. I often suggest to my writer friends, that each book should have their own blog site, and one should write about current situations in the press, or conversations that one can express their input and pull in the audience that way through the Search Engines.
There are so many ways to study this, and over the years, I have learnt a lot about blogging by listening to many different speaker online, and often for free, or on their youtubes, explaining the ways you should blog. One comment statement is that you must deliver content that is written in a way that Google, and other Search Engines can find it and your audience. Most don’t understand the importance of a good title, and the first sentence is important to. It is the little tricks like that, that help you get your blogs found, along with the right tag words. I would rather use a few good phrases, and repeat them in the content, first sentence, as most people don’t google a word, they google phrase about the word. It’s essential to communicate with that audience in mind, or ones material is unattainable, and in other countries too. As an author, you may have a different audience for your individual books, and it’s vital to have different sites. It takes time to keep your blogs current and create a style, but the good thing is that every blog is a stepping stone, and they don't disappear on the www, they are filed in that big cosmic filing cabinet how you originally labelled them. One should often google themselves, and see who is promoting you, and sharing your work.
