Anna Wintour Rallies Support for Obama’s Reelection

What Anna Wintour wants, Anna Wintour gets, and this year, she wants to keep the Obamas in the White House. The iconic Vogue editor has called on her army of the fashion elite to help her do so by designing Obama-inspired products—think tote bags, T-shirts, and  scarves—to be sold online as part of a fundraising initiative called Runway to Win. Proceeds will go to the Obama Victory Fund. Designers set to participate include Tory Burch, DVF, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Rachel Roy, and Marc Jacobs, who—at Wintour’s urging—broke Louis Vuitton’s wishes to stay out of it (Republicans like expensive hand bags too) and whipped up a T-shirt for the cause. Wintour will also be hosting a fundraising event for Obama next month with Scarlett Johansson. Apparently, the fashion community doesn’t think Newt Gingrich is fashion-muse material.
