Last week I talked about my top three denim trends for fall, so today I thought it would be helpful to show you how to wear one of my faves: coated denim. Initially, I was hesitant about the shiny look of this trendy jean style, but after purchasing my first pair I was sold! Rather than the stiff, leather-like material I'd expected, coated denim pants are typically really comfortable and feel like stretchy leggings.
What I love most about coated denim is that it’s so versatile and edgy. Since the jeans are already a bit dressy, I like to pair them with simple wardrobe pieces like a tee and structured coat as seen above. For an evening out I paired them with a classic heel, but I could easily dress the look down with a pair of ballet flats or loafers as seen below. The key to wearing coated jeans is finding a pair that fits well and that you feel comfortable in. Once you find the perfect pair of coated denim, build your outfit around them. Think chambray and flats for a pulled together day look or go all black for an edgy night look.

Coated denim jeans are everywhere this fall and it’s nice to see them in an assortment of colors and at different price points. Whether you’re just trying them out or want to splurge, there’s a pair out there for everyone. I can guarantee these leather-like jeans are one of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe for fall!
