How to Wear a Turban Headband

One of my all time favorite hair accessories, that I'm definitely transitioning into fall with, are turban headbands. When I first started rocking these headbands, I have to admit I was a little self-conscious. I had never worn a headband around my head; I'd only worn them to push back my hair while working out or when I was little. However, I fell in love with this new way of wearing them. Now, if I don’t have one wrapped around my head, I feel completely naked! The Turban headband is my favorite hair accessory, and I love them because they can completely pull together an outfit. I pair them with dresses and a sweater, leggings, oversized tees, and jeans—the options are endless. Here are a few of my favorite ways to rock this awesome turban headband trend.

I love mixing up my hairstyles when I wear turban headbands. My two favorite ways to wear these are with a braid, I love my bohemian braid for this, or loose flowy curls.

I now own quite a few turban headbands. My favorite way to wear them is to throw one on with a rather boring outfit to make a statement with the bold colors and fun patterns. Turban headbands are also a great addition to a louder outfit, like my Independence Day outfit above.

If it is your first time playing around with turban headbands, here are a few tips to consider:

  1. Always brush your hair into place before you put on your headband. Once it's on, it is very hard to adjust the hairs.
  2. Start by placing the front of the headband on your forehead and stretch the rest of the headband behind your head. For me, this is the easiest way to put on my turban headbands without messing up my hair.
  3. If you're wearing a braid, after you have the headband on, pull out some hairs to frame your face and loosen up the look.
  4. If you're leaving your hair down, simply fluff up your curls by pulling them apart to create fullness.

I hope these simple tips can help you achieve the perfect turban headband look!
