Devon Rachel's Top 5 Must-Have Fashion Trends for Fall 2013

Fall weather is finally here—hallelujah! It’s time to put away your shorts and sandals and dust off your fall boots. This leaf-changing season is one of my favorites for fashion. Say hello to leather, fur, coats, boots, and so many great fall staples. So what am I lusting over this fall season? Funny you should ask. Here are my top 5 must-have fashion items for fall. Happy shopping!

1. Leather
Leather seems to stay strong through the seasons. This totally excites me because leather details, jackets, pants, heck, anything leather makes giddy. We’re seeing majorly chic leather details this season. Think leather sleeves, collars, etc. But the leather pieces we all loved from last fall are here to stay. I suggest trying a leather skinny pant paired with a tee and statement necklace—foolproof outfit if you ask me!

2. Menswear Vibe
There is nothing sexier and more powerful than a woman in a menswear-inspired getup. We are seeing a rise in the oxford trend, matching suit trend, and even bow ties! A skirt suit is your best bet if you're just starting to try out the menswear trend. Try an all-black number and rock it!

3. Print Mixing
Bold prints and pattern mixing is my forte. I absolutely love the juxtaposition of textures and prints when worn together. Most people are terrified to try this trend at first but fall in love with it soon after trying. Try mixing stripes and prints for your first time. It’s a no-fail look!

4. Capes
Capes make me so excited for fall! Think Sherlock Holmes meets Vogue. A cape is by far one of the chicest ways to dress this fall. Do not be afraid of the volume they create! Simply keep the bottom half of your outfit slim with skinnies for example and you won’t feel or look overwhelmed.

5. Camo Print
I cannot believe I’m saying this, but camo is totally in this season. From jackets to jeans, camo has been gracing the runways and streets alike. When wearing this trend, make sure to keep other aspects of your outfit neutral. Try pairing a white tee and black blazer with camo jeans for a fabulous chic look.
