Trench Coats: A Timeless Trend

I’ve been discussing my favorite fall essentials over the past couple of weeks and today I’m tackling my absolute must-have item—the trench coat. For me, fall is the season of the trench coat. It’s the perfect transitional layering piece; warm, but not too heavy, ideal for those brisk autumn days. Not only is the trench the perfect layering piece, it’s classic, versatile, and oh so chic!

One of the main reasons I believe the traditional trench coat is an absolute must-have in the fall is because of its versatility. The khaki or beige color is so classic and the cut is timeless. You can easily make the jacket like the focal point of an outfit like Helena did or throw it on simply for layering purposes like Julia and myself. I can’t count the number of times I’ve grabbed my trench on the way out the door as my last layer. It really does go with everything!

Below I’m showing you how to dress up your trench coat with a pair of leather leggings and pumps for date night. I’m also showing you how to dress it down with skinny jeans and ballet flats for a day of shopping with the girls. The nice thing about the trench coat is it’s always evolving and we have quite the variety to choose from. Whether it’s navy, black, short, long, or even one with moto leather sleeves, I promise there’s a trench out there for everyone.

If you have yet to invest in a trench coat, I promise it will be the best, most versatile piece you’ve added to your closet in a while.
