Diana Krall is super, too. I also have Jane Monheit in my music library and have been listening to Cheryl Bentyne. She used to be in Manhattan Transfer. The movie, "De-Lovely" chronicled Cole Porter's life and had contemporary artists such as Alanis Morissette, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, etc performing Cole Porter tunes. Alanis Morrissette said it was a way to introduce a whole new generation to Cole Porter.

Recently, I have learned to appreciate the sounds of Sinatra. Tony Bennett has always been a favorite. Diana Krall does wonderful renditions of old favorites.

I grew up in a musical family, so I listen to lots of different styles of music. My dad plays jazz keyboards. I have always been fond of "Girl From Ipanema" by Antonio Carlos Jobim. My favorite version is with Astrud Gilberto on vocals. I also like David Benoit, Michael Buble, Tony Bennett and I still will listen to Frank Sinatra. I like Carly Simon's music of the old standards, too. Mel Torme, and his velvet voice, is definitely a classic.
