My Mom stopped cleaning house about 25 years ago, but this Christmas we are supposed to go and stay in her house FOR 7 days. It is horrible she said and followed up with email pictures. She told me she just can not get herself motivated to clean and asked if we would we be okay with the house being so dirty. I told her not to worry but was screaming inside. She asked me to help her clean but we just need a shovel and a dumpster it looks like. Stacks of paper line the table wher only one seat is a ble to have table space. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO KEEP MY MOMS DIGNITY BUT GET THE CLUTTER OUT OF THERE????

what would happen if you said, you would stay at a nearby motel? would she be hurt or relieved? some people need their mess - you clean up for them and it goes right back to what it was. or is there one room that you can make your own? good luck.

oh man, that can be tough cinchi. try to be delicate, the clutter could be comforting to you mom, but its not healthy to have around. make little steps each day and hopefully by the time you leave it will be better....of coarse, right as you leave.
