Bonsai

The art of bonsai has been my hobby for over 25 years. (For many years it was also my business.) I grew them, sold them, traveled the country to lecture about them, wrote a bonsai book, articles, photographed them. Bonsai has been my life. I never understood how anyone could give up this great hobby. . . until recently. Last year I lost my dearest friend. My sorrow caused me to slow down and take a second glance at my own life. I now realize there are other exciting things I want to do and see. Bonsai has been good to me, but it is time to sell off some of my little prizes and narrow down my collection to a small manageable few, maybe a dozen or so. If that seems like a lot, keep in mind I currently have about 100. Bonsai is a high maintenance hobby . . . weeds, watering, trimming, repotting and not just anyone can babysit! (No, I will not be selling online.) Anyone else feel guilty about leaving a long term hobby? I'm sure I'll get over it (smile!)
