Beer...not just for men

I have enjoyed trying the many micro beers available now, or beers with lime. Do you think beers are directed less at men? Whats a favorite of yours.

Being that Oktoberfest just ended, I love a good German beer. Spaten is a favorite, and if you can still get it, try the Spaten Oktoberfest Brew....it's great!!!! I also like Fat Tire, just knocked a few of those back last night! After going to Europe a few times, it's hard to come back and drink Miller Light any more. There are some great beers out there!

Mexican BEER all the way! Although after fixing dinner i always try to have a glass of merlot to ease the stress of the day. But Saturday College Football and Sunday NFL and watching my husband grill and yell with the scores; a beer goes well! The mountain resort we live close to has some of the finest breweries in CO; i highly recommend! Happy Tasting!

Yes, brewers are taking note that it's not just the frat boys picking up a 12 pack to go. I've noticed more cheese and beer tastings popping up and ads are more women-friendly. I think, overall, the alcohol industry is beginning to focus their marketing their products to women; cutesy labels and bottles. Malt beverages have become huge; i.e. Smirnoff Ice. I don't care, as long as it tastes good. I started out with Miller's back in college and have since progressed to lustily slurping down a pint (or two...or more like three) of Guinness or other such beers. If you're in SF, check out Speak Easy brewery on Evans Street Friday nights. They have some fantastic beer and cheap ($10 for 3 beers and you get to keep the pint).

You know, I think the consumers are just realizing that there is more out there than Bud and Miller. And the breweries are taking notice that the consumer's taste buds are becoming more cultured. My recent favorite is Blue Moon, but I also enjoy Killian's and Fat Tire, and most made by Belgium Brewing Co.
