Wicked:The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

I just finished Wicked, and I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want want to finish it, in hopes that I would never have to let these characters go. The story strikes up such strong emotions about true love, friendship, origins of evil, and forgiveness. I think everyone can relate to the main character, Elphaba, and her misfit ways, misunderstanding, and truely wanting to know what her purpose is. I recommend this book especially for strong women, even though both men and women of all ages would find it extremely intriguing.

It's a great book and I thought "Son of a Witch" was just as good!

I read the book, and just recently saw it on broadway, and while I couldn't put the book down, and loved the show, I cannot look at The Wizard of Oz the same anymore! I can't decide if that is a good or bad thing, but I think I am leaning towards good. Has anyone read his other books?

You are so right! Besides the imagery and the amazingly imaginative story, this book highlights the gray area between good and evil. It really makes you recognize that what you can see is never the whole story. I am much more interested in this kind of character than some shallow, goodie-goodie!

Hi, Perhaps I might relate to the character, as you say, but I certainly can't relate to her name, just now! I will read the book.
