Borat

I was ardently opposed to seeing Borat but was coerced by a bunch of friends who bought me some beers and my ticket. I was not opposed because I don’t like stupid humor. Oh contraire: nary a fart I haven’t found funny or a poop joke I haven’t made. But something about the hype and the hoopla made me shirk from this movie like the rotten seed I knew it was going to be. And I wasn’t disappointed. The only part I really remembering laughing at was when Borat referred to his sister’s vagine (vagina) as a wizard’s sleeve. That was inspired. But the rest of it…just too obvious to be funny, or too uncomfortable, or too damn stupid, and not in the good way. I know, I know, it’s a satire. But I like satire, I like potty jokes, I like making fun of people. But I still didn’t like Borat. I feel like a social pariah amongst the humor inclined. Can anyone back me up on this?

I thought it was hysterical, there were parts that make you uncomfortable, but, that's entertainment. When they was wrestling naked I almost wet myself. Yes, it's stupid, but, really funny.

I thought the movie was hilarious. He is an extremely talented actor and comedian. It's amazing how he was able to stay in character during some of those scenes.

Ah! Come on people! It was political incorrectness at its finest. Borat's blatant absurdity is what made the film funny.

I know it's august, I just joined the forum! I hated Borat. I didn't find the movie funny at all, actually offensive in some parts. Sarcasm and irony are difficutl to put in a screenplay without getting into volgar sentences and, as we say in Italian, "gratuit cursing". It's just a stupid movie.

No. LOL. Seriously, though, I thought the beginning of the film where he was in the subway and then running after New Yorkers was hil-ar-ious! New Yorkers are very much like that and I got a kick out of it. Can't you at least agree on this?
