Soap Opinions

Soaps have the highest percentage of female viewers of anything on TV. But women are pretty split on them. SOme like em, some wouldn't be caught dead. I'd love it if people would talk about what they like or don't like about them. Why is it, for example, that people aren't embarassed to say they watch Charm School, but wouldn't admit to liking All my Children? I mean, the stories are actually the same sort of fare as on Grey's Anatomy or whatnot. So what makes them different?

i love that i'm a complete soapaholic. i live in ireland so my soaps are emmerdale, eastenders, corrie street, fair city and sometimes i look at home and away. i'm a just made single mother so i don't get alot of excitment in my live and it feels like the only bit of adult conversation i can get is roaring at the telly at phil or billy or jo when they do something mad or dangerous. they have all become part of my daily routine and therefore my second family. i know i'm kinda sad :(
