Having a pond creates more ecosystems and a positive impact on the environment. If you want to keep it clear, you'll want to invest in a filtering system.

I think it depends on when you started it. If it's a brand new pond, give it awhile to grow the alga, if still looks so brand new after awhile then maybe you should add a few more things, like moss to the edge etc. Good luck!
