Favorite Film for the "Art" of Film

What film inspires you not only for the story, but also for the art of the filming, on all fronts?

My favorite "Sundance Film Festival" films are: "Mrs. Henderson Presents," "Legend of 1900," and "Kinky Boots," (no, its not a dirty film). My favorie oldie is "Captains Courageous" with Freddie Bartholomew, Spencer Tracy, Lionel Barrymore (1937). The film I saw recently was "Waitress" I thought it was going to be a silly movie - but it turned out to be a great film!

Well, I really don't have a reply to any of the films mentioned, but, if I may, there is one of many films that I felt were just very good to watch. A favorite was 'SAHARA' w/H. Bogart, D.Duryea, B. Bennett. A U.S Tank lost in the desert. And just as good, a remake in color with Jim Belushi. Always able to watch them over & over again.

Mine is Outsourced (http://www.outsourcedthemovie.com/). Since most of the movie is shot in India the color and lighting are beautiful. One of the things I love about Outsourced is that it's a modern movie, but doesn't use special effects or glitz to tell the story, it actually uses the story to tell the story, and because of that it feels like an older film, yet has the look and content of a newer film.

I am a big movie fan, but one classic black and white film I've always loved is "The Ghost & Mrs. Muir." I think Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison are so good in this film. It is touching and intriquing for me to watch this film. This film does not have the major special effects like today's movies, but it captures the emotions and feelings of the characters. I feel for the characters and cannot help but like them. I also cannot believe this movie is 60 years old now. I own a copy of this film. I always cry at the end. I think this is a timeless film, especially in light of the current interest in shows and movies about psychic and paranormal activities.

Mine is Amelie. The greens, the reds, the darkness amongst the light of love. I just got inspired to remember this since the soundtrack popped up in iTunes. I loved this film. Shopgirl was another one I loved...with a similar feel to the filming.
