The Latest From The Home & Garden Show!

It's a busy Monday at the Southern California Home & Garden Show. We've met a lot of women who are genuinely happy to find a venue for their recipes, gardening tips, renovation problems, and ideas. The show is very lively today and people are milling about, drawn to the healing puppies, the shriveled up dude in the pool, and the prefab houses. We're going to go check out all the green stuff -- there's a strong green presence with cool new products that won't hurt your home/life/world. We've met some really fabulous characters. Two female business owners from the National Associateion of Women In Construction (NAWIC) who have run their own construction companies for thirty years and they shared the kind of issues they face as women in a predominantly male industry. Most of their customers are women who are happy to have a contractor they can trust. We met another woman who shared her personal story of finding out she had breast cancer, going through chemo, thinking menopause was kicking in, and finding out she was 7 months pregnant! She has a healthy happy baby girl and she will share the rest of her story (there's more??!) on divinecaroline.

We just spoke to a musician who was drawn to the music coming from the Real Time Lounge. He has been playing music since 1985 and will soon contribute concert reviews, equipment and the evolution of music technology. There are so many undercover storytellers out there.
