Finding the perfect living situation can be an extremely daunting for anyone. There are several factors to consider when deciding the type of living situation that you want to commit to. The decision to rent or own depends on many factors. Below I have listed several things you should consider when trying to decide whether renting or owning is right for you.

Whether you want to test the waters in an apartment before you buy, think you might have to relocate in a few years, or simply do not want to put down the large down payment to own, renting is always a readily available option.

11. Are you handy enough to fix minor repair issues? If not you may want to look into staying somewhere where the apartment manager or maintenance person lives onsite.
12. Do you have a car or bike that you need parking for? Check to see the policy and parking arrangement situation. Parking can get pretty pricey depending on where you live.
13. Do you like making extreme changes to the places you live to add your own personal flair? Be sure to check the alteration policy before signing a lease.
