“Worrying is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.”—Anonymous
So where do you stand in the middle of all this financial sector mess? Did you sell all your stocks? Did you decide to buy more (yes, some are doing just that!), or did you decide not to decide? I hope you’re not spending your time worrying. That will lose you more than you may have lost in the stock market this week!
There are both great challenges and great opportunities before us. There are a couple of things we know for sure: 1) Congress isn’t going to let the financial sector collapse; 2) There are some really good buys out there right now (like Pfizer & Morningstar); 3) The stock market will recover—eventually. History has shown that with every major drop, the market has recovered within at least eighteen months. Cool.
So get out of that rocking chair, remember we’re in this for the long run, reassess your portfolio, and pick up some good buys. In the meantime, I’ve vowed not to look at my investments every day!
Many blessings and much prosperity!
