Fall is officially here, and autumn in New England is synonymous with two things—fall foliage landscapes and apple picking.
Nothing goes better with this sudden change in weather like warm apple cider. There are dozens of pick-your-own apple orchards in Massachusetts. Whether you live in downtown Boston or on the Western end of the state, there are orchards scattered all along the state to choose from.
During this time of year, many of the farms and orchards have petting zoos, hayrides, and fresh fall staples beckoning visitors with cinnamon smells of apple pies and cider doughnuts. It’s a perfect way to spend a fall afternoon with family, friends, and even out of town guests.
Find out which orchard near you has apples ready for picking. Remember, each orchard carries different varieties of apples (Macintosh, Gala, etc). Fruit is also based on availability. So find a place near you go picking before the pickin’s are slim!
