I’ve Got Daylight Savings Time Lag

Is there such a thing? I think there is, because I’m definitely suffering from it.

I grew up in a state that didn’t do Daylight Savings Time until about three years ago, so I’ve had a pretty hard time adjusting to it. Who decides to do such a horrible thing?

I know I was perfectly happy with the way time was already. Or I just got used to it finally. I’m not kidding because I remember complaining all through winter about it being dark by 5 p.m. Now I’ll spend at least the next month complaining that it’s still partly dark again when we wake up in the mornings.

It was frustrating trying to go to sleep Saturday night, knowing that the clock was lying to me. Superman and I were up having a snack at 1:45 a.m. because we knew it was really only 12:45. And don’t get me wrong, I like Sunday naps. but for four hours because I’m so messed up? That’s not right.

And it’s completely backward if you ask me. I’m not an outdoorsy type girl and would much rather have an extra hour of light in the winter. Instead, we get the extra hour in the summer so the kids want to stay outside and play. That causes me to fight mosquitoes and other yucky summertime bugs and completely messes up my evening TV schedule.

Not that I’m holding a grudge or anything. I’m not one to complain. Stomping feet
