This Is For Miley

I recently recieved a letter from ASPCA. My mom was sorting through the mail and she handed me the ASPCA envelope because everyone I know knows I adore animals. The letter was, of course, trying to get us to buy a membership to the foundation. I was skimming it and there was a story of puppies buried alive. A kitten burned at stake on a grill! I cry every time I read or see an abused animal. Which influenced me to write this article.

It made me think of abandoned animals that are just left to die because their stupid, idiotic “owners” decided to leave. Some animals never get a second chance. Some have NO hope. And I know what you are thinking right now, “Oh this is some crazy cat lady trying to send a message!” But, these situations are happening this moment in time.

I have been volunteering at my local animal shelter for the past four years. It amazes me how happy these dogs and cats are to be able to love someone! I worked with a dog named Miley last month. She is the sweetest, happiest, go-luckiest dog I’ve ever met! You would never think her owner brought her to the shelter and left her. That’s right. Can you imagine what that must feel like for Miley? Picture your parents taking you to an orphanage and just leaving you. Leaving you with absolutely nothing but confusion, anger, and depression.

So the next time you are flipping through the channels and you see a ASPCA or Pedigree commercial, watch it. Adopt a shelter pet. They have something to tell you, “I love you!”

P.S. Miley is up for adoption.
